Returns Beyond the Sale | NGP is working to push breeder recognition beyond a simple thank you, creating practical ways for breeders to receive financial recognition for their essential role in the development of the sport.

Whether that value is sport value or sale value, the right horse-rider match can help a breeder’s horse reach its greatest potential.
Breeder Prizes Throughout a Horse’s Career
By adding breeder-based prize opportunities, NGP is working to help breeders benefit not only from the first return created through a sale, but also from prize opportunities connected to the horse’s success down the line. Once a horse has been enrolled in the NGP Breeders Program, the breeder will become eligible for Breeder Prize opportunities connected to that horse’s career, even after the horse has been sold.
Breeder Inclusion in High Performance Sport Rewards
NGP has developed and will continue to add to prize-based recognition to financially reward breeders for producing exceptional horses. Prize opportunities have been developed around the highest achievements in the sport, including breeder awards as high as $1M for specific championship-level outcomes.
How it Works.
Participating breeders may enroll foals through 7-year-olds in the NGP database.
Once a horse has been enrolled in the program, the breeder will become eligible for Breeder Prize opportunities connected to that horse’s career through the NGP Breeders Program.
Horses aged 4 through 7 may be presented twice yearly for professional review, development program selection, and rider matching opportunities.
Following professional review, selected horses may enter a defined development period at the breeder’s discretion, with breeder-approved riders and partnership structures explored where appropriate.
As long as a horse belongs to the breeder, NGP works alongside the breeder to support sport and financial value creation opportunities.
